My Hair Journey Into 2016!!!

It’s finally the last month of the year (December, 2015) and we all can celebrate the end of a beautiful 2015. If you started your natural hair journey this year, I am sure you are happy that you have decided to make the transition to natural hair and this year has taught you the dos and don’ts of natural hair. I will share some of my best natural hair tips that you can take into 2016.

#1: Your hair will not grow overnight.
I know this is cliché but patience is very important when you are going through your natural hair journey. You will see many naturals that may have longer hair than you. You must remember that their hair did not grow in a day. It took time and patience to get to that point. If you stick to this rule you will definitely appreciate the process.

#2: Focus on the health of your hair. Healthy hair is very important. If your goal is to grow your hair, you must ensure that your hair is very healthy. You can do this by styling your hair in low manipulation styles, deep conditioning your hair regularly. Limit the times your shampoo your curls. Shampooing your hair too much can lead to dull, dry hair, which could possibly lead to breakage.

#3: Protect your hair while you sleep.
Nighttime hair care is just as important as daytime hair care. Protecting your hair during rest by using a satin scarf or a satin pillowcase will keep your hair moisturized and it will also prevent unwanted frizz and tangles.

#5: Do not stress your hair. The fact that you want your hair to grow longer doesn't mean you have to force it. If your hair is stressed, it tends to lead to breakage, so avoid too much hair supplements and creams and do not touch it every second.

#4: Have fun!
Create different hairstyles (that won't tug at you hair) to change your look. Remember to have fun with your hair. Wear your crown proudly with confidence. You will not only boost your own self-esteem and confidence but will inspire others to embrace their hair as well.

Happy New Month (And New Year in Advance)!!!

Yours,
