Am I back? I think I just might be

Over the past 8 years, I often find myself coming back here to relive my teenage whimsies.

However, I couldn't access her (my blog) for a couple years, because I had forgotten my login details, hence, was locked out. Fortunately, it finally worked out fine tonight.

I've been through a lot since the my last published post, both good and bad lots. Looking back to who I was at the time, a lot has changed. Life has taken a lot from me, while I also took some from it...unfortunately not in equal measures. Nevertheless, I think I may be back to writing.

I recently discovered that I don't exactly love writing with my hands, with a pen, and on paper. I sometimes put too much pressure on my hands when writing, which makes my palm start to hurt, so it's just kind of an hassle for the most part. Typing on the other hand, feels the entire opposite. Probably because I started typing since I was more or less 13. So, it feels very natural and doesn't make my hands hurt...for the most part.

All that aside, my initial thought when I saw the last date I published a post, and proceeded to connect some dots and timelines in my brain was -- 'may God punish this boy, God punish Timi'. There's a possibility the said person might see this later, but I really don't care about that. All I could think of was how meeting them was the last straw that made my camel eventually lose her spark.

BIBLICAL VIEW ON PIERCINGS

Getting your ears pierced is a big deal in so many households. Many of us can remember growing up begging our moms to let us get them done or waiting until we are old enough to get them. You wait in anticipation, thinking about how pretty you’ll look with those little diamond studs in your ears and your parents think about the fact that their baby is actually growing up.

While we often consider how we’ll see ourselves and how others will look at us, many of us fail to consider what God thinks about this decision. While being a Christian doesn’t mean putting checkmarks on a list of do’s and don’ts, it’s still important to put the messages of our culture through the filter of God’s Word to see how they hold up.

Body piercings and tattoos continue to be a highly debated topic in the Christian community. While some Christians don’t believe body piercing is a sin at all, others believe the Bible makes it quite clear that we need to treat our bodies as temples and not do anything to damage it, including body piercings.

Stop Blaming President Buhari!

We blame all issues on our leaders...yeah, 50% of the issues arise from their incompetency, but who takes the blame for the remaining 50??? No one!

Every single person is looking for who to apportion blames, and we can only point at the leaders, who fail to carry out their obligations properly.

It even gets to the point where we compare the mode of dressing and fashion trends between other foreign leaders and our very own leaders.

I'm scared of falling in love again

Yeah...very afraid!
I just have to admit it to myself. I'm scared of falling in love.
Most people would say I'm too young to know what love is, afterall I'm only eighteen, but I believe the lessons and experiences start from the teenage years.

I admire the whites for a lot of things which includes giving freedom to their offspring to go out and know what life is like out there. Rich or poor...the kids start dating at a very young age and most of them even leave home to get independent at eighteen.

Truth be told, most African kids too get independent at a rather younger age, owing to the fact that their parents struggle to provide for the family;  or the kids are orphaned; or some other reason, and then the kids are pushed out to experience the world at a rather younger age and they hustle really hard just to feed themselves.

The Bitter-Sweet Realities Of Life

Hi Darlings, you've been good...yeah?
I've been doing some thinking and have come to a realization that we fail to admit to the realities of life.
For instance, I have uncles whom I love not much or less than the love you have for a random relative and I do trust them wholeheartedly. I'm sure if anyone told me that they are cheating on their wives, I would deny it totally.

I just can't bring myself to imagine them taking another lady out and leaving their beautiful wives behind??? It doesn't make any sense, but yeah...it does make sense, they are mere mortals, and even in the movies, immortals cheat on their spouses...lol, just kidding!

And I'm surenuff not the only one on this page, or am I?
We fail to accept life in its bittersweet lessons. We fail to make memories and learn from our mistakes.

MY VIEW ON SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE

Recently, myself and a friend were having random discussions, and then we started talking about sex before marriage. That was when I realized we had different views.

My belief is that it is wrong and also not wrong. Why, you might ask.

5 TIPS TO STUDYING EFFECTIVELY

Everyone is different. Different methods work for different people; the following are only suggestions on improving your current studying techniques.

1. Make a Study Plan: Time is precious. Nobody is more aware of this than the student who hasn’t studied a thing until the night before an exam. By then, of course, it might be too late. The key to breaking the cycle of cramming for tests is to think ahead and create an effective study plan. Not only will this help you get organised and make the most of your time, it’ll also put your mind at ease and eliminate that nasty feeling you get when you walk into an exam knowing that you’re not at all prepared. As the old saying goes, "fail to prepare and be prepared to fail".

5 WAYS TO OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION

1. ASK YOURSELF: Before you start working on any task, ask yourself the following three questions:
- Is this the best use of my time at the moment?
- Do i know where to start from?
- Am I using this task as an excuse to avoid working on something else that’s more important?
