FORBIDDEN - Anita's Story (Part 2)

The sky was too cloudy on this particular day, which made Anita really think if she was going to go with her regular day-to-day routine. She thought to herself why it had to be today of all days that the sky had to let down the grudges and anger it had been holding for too long.

It’s going to be a long day, she thought. But why today? Then she thought of her previous day encounters with the young man she had met while working at her part-time job. The thoughts of his soft and soothing words after the hard day’s work made her blush.

Jude, as the handsome gentleman had addressed himself, had come in after her boss had vented his anger on her by ordering her to clean up their chicken delivery shop which was quite unusual. She, of course, didn’t want to do it, but what was she going to do? He was her boss and the fact that she was quite close with him didn’t mean she had to pretend she didn’t hear him order her.

And besides, what was most important was that she had pleaded him to pay her two months’ salary in advance and she terribly needed it. “If I don’t do this now, I might not get on Boss’ good side, and Sola will be chased out of school. Sola, her elder brother was in the University, and after their father, Jeremy Williams had died following his heart attack, she was the only one left to assist their sick widowed mother.

Her mother, Mary Williams, had been suffering from breast cancer two months before her husband died. And her brother, who was supposed to help them, was in University and she didn’t want him to drop-out. So, after her secondary school examinations, she stopped dreaming of furthering her education and since then had been working hard to help Sola, her mom and Daisy, her younger sister.

‘Life is full of miseries’, Anita thought aloud to herself. ‘But, why think about all these now, I’m going to meet Jude and he is going to help me out of this bondage anyway’ she said as she remembered her conversation with the gentlemanly stranger.
